The
Internet is a global server that provides information and tools to the general
public. It provides individuals with the ability to research information, share
information, and create their own data. Internet marketing is being used more
and more by companies and individuals every day, and it is continuing to grow
rapidly and deplete print mediums. These previous mediums were once the
connection people had to the rest of the world, but now the Internet has taken
precedence over this. It is now playing the liaison between individuals and the
rest of the world, and with this kind of technology there are vast amounts of
possibilities for personal growth. The Internet has increased my awareness of
the positives and negatives it provides for networking and connecting with
people. It has also increased my awareness of how our society has limited
patience due to the instant gratification that the Internet offers.
Social
media and digital advertising is changing the way we communicate and send
messages to one another. The Internet has made me more mindful to the people I
have lost connection with over the years, and at the same time it has allowed
me to reconnect with them through social media. LinkedIn, Facebook, and
Instagram are just a few social media mediums that have created an outlet for
developing relationships with others. As snail mail and print media dissipate,
social media is becoming a new way to maintain connections with individuals. It
also helps businesses and entrepreneurs to cultivate business partnerships,
gain business, and obtain information about individuals and other groups,
associations, or companies.
The
World Wide Web is a place for everyone to share ideas and news about
themselves. However, it can also be dangerous because identities can be created
that do not actually exist. It is important to remember that the current
society is not always looking out for the interests of others. There are
certain ways to block sites or withhold personal information from the Internet,
and this makes it easier to share with those you know rather than complete
strangers. Social media is notorious for displaying personal information of a
person unless it has been set to keep certain information private. When trying
to cultivate connections through the Internet, there are endless opportunities
through social media and other digital marketing services.
The
instant gratification our society has become accustomed to is due to how
quickly the Internet allows us access to information and data. Over time
society grew dependent on the quick and speedy Internet that has grown from
what was once dial-up to high speed Internet. The Internet is a great resource
for any quick question or solution, but it is also creating an impatient
society that desires an instant answer for any and everything needed. Instant
gratification is tied to the Internet, and it has made me more aware of how our
society is becoming. The Internet is working to our society’s advantage and to
our disadvantage.
The
most incredible thing about the Internet is that it is a connector,
re-connector, and an outlet for business dealings through online media
marketing. It has made me conscious of both the dangers and the advantages to
using the resources it provides. The Internet can be a safe place and a place
for personal growth if it is used properly, and it will only continue to
produce opportunities for Internet users. Nevertheless, the Internet is a place
to develop relationships, maintain relationships, and utilize services for
business purposes, and it has made me aware of the constantly changing social
culture our society has created.
